The course will allow you to identify sources of business opportunities from different perspectives, organisational, social, and technological. In the first module you will design and undertake appropriate preliminary research to investigate the potential impact of these opportunities on your organisation. You will also assess the viability of the business opportunity and present a research proposal to stakeholders in your company. The second module will provide you with the analytical ability to use traditional and technology based analytical approaches that are orientated towards the needs of the individual user by asking smart questions. In the third module you will also gain knowledge in relation to optimising and managing team performance to ensure your workplace research goals are realised, and learn how to communicate your research findings to stakeholders. Part of entrepreneurship entails assessing the impact of business ideas and reflecting and learning from both success and failure. To address these needs you will learn how to evaluate the impact of research projects, reflect on the findings and learn from these by identifying future opportunities for their workplace. Finally, you will be taught how to develop a portfolio of work to allow you to progress your individual career.
